Anyone can volunteer on a project to help others. It could be collecting truckloads of clothing for the homeless, or as personal as spending an afternoon helping an elderly neighbor or relative.

Banco Popular Makes New York City "Greener"

In keeping with the banks commitment to give back to the communities it serves, Banco Popular North America (BPNA) hosted a series of “Dream Green Community Days,” throughout New York City to help make the communities it serves “greener.” The “greening” of the communities included: cleaning up City Parks and Green Spaces by sweeping and raking paths, weeding, spreading mulch and wood chips, painting benches, planting new greenery, litter pick up and anything else to "spruce up" the parks and help make our community a little "greener".

The “Dream Green Community Days” are part of Banco Popular’s “We Love Dreams” campaign and were created to make numerous communities’ “green” dreams come true.

The New York and New Jersey team, continue dedicating themselves to community organizations that serve the elderly through Meals on Wheels as well as food and blood drives.

Volunteers partnered with the Food Bank of NYC to collect food and try to surpass last year’s goal of 100 thousand pounds as well as provide support for Newark-based Goodwill Rescue Kitchen. They also helped The New York Blood Center by driving awareness for blood donation and encouraging donors to visit a mobile bus at the South Street Seaport. Other team members dedicated their time to refreshing the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, which is dedicated to Hispanic artists. For a fourth year in a row, volunteers supported Project Sunshine by creating craft kits for hospitalized children nationwide. Over 2,000 kits were created last year and select branches will remain open after business hours to allow team members to build them. Lastly, other volunteers will run a clothing drive for Dress For Success.
