Jorge Núñez is a puertorican male singer native from Cidra Puerto Rico who is better known for his participation in a worldwide known realty tv singing competition. He started in music when he was 10 years old. By the time he was part of his church kid's choir known as Niñitos del Ave Maria. Later when he turned 16 he entered a special school program known as C.A.B.A. (Centro de Adiestramiento y Bellas Artes) located in Aguadilla to which he attended until he graduated from highschool. He developed a love for choral music and singing for that matter and he audtion for the choir of his first college the UPR at Cayey, which he left a year after due to an exchange he made to another branch of the same University, the UPR at Rio Piedras. He was in the choir of the Univerty of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras only for part of his third and fourth year, due to his busy scheduled with Biology and Literature. He was forced to leave the choir on his last semester at Campus because he was chosen to participate on a very important show in the United States in which he prgressed up till the finals. Currently Jorge Núñez is fcusing in following up with his solo carreer and finishing his degree in Comparative Literature.
Banco Popular North America (BPNA) proudly participated in the 2009 National Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, June 14, 2009. This was the 47th year that Banco Popular celebrated the spirit and culture of the Puerto Rican community on this special day.
Native Puerto Rican singer Jorge Núñez, finalist in an internationally known reality television singing competition this year, performed on the Banco Popular float. Bank employees and their family members marched together along with Populoso, Banco Popular's beloved mascot.
